The Early Years at Capitol Plus Lord Flea and the Calypsonians
Artist(s): Harry Belafonte
Only a few people know that Harry Belafonte, the legendary mega-star, went into the New York recording studios at Capitol Records between July and December 1949, and, together with the great orchestra of Pete Rugolo, laid down eight famous (non-Calypso) songs.
Description: The album was released back then but nothing more was heard from it. Now, for the first time in six decades, DRG is reissuing the album on CD. As a bonus we are also including the brilliant Calypso star Lord Flea who had a short but brilliant career and his Capitol album hit the charts back in the early 1960s.
